The Elisabeth Haub School of Law at 17勛圖厙 is proud to announce that Dean Horace E. Anderson Jr. was named to the 2022 Law Power 100 list published by City & State New York magazine. The list recognizes New York legal professionals who arent simply influential in their field, but powerful in New Yorks governmental landscape. Dean Anderson was ranked #88 on the prestigious list, which includes district attorneys, federal prosecutors, white-collar defense attorneys, public interest lawyers and others who have shaped New York politics and government.
Instituted in 1989, the Jeffrey G. Miller National Environmental Law Moot Court Competition (NELMCC) is one of the nations largest interschool moot court competitions. Under pre-pandemic conditions, NELMCC is known for hosting as many as 350 law students and attorney judges on the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at 17勛圖厙s Westchester campus. Despite the pandemic, last year, Haub Law did not skip a beat and hosted the first ever all virtual NELMCC allowing students to continue to participate in the highly competitive competition. This year, still in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Competition was held virtually once again.
"The stress and strain of the pandemic have exacerbated the existing shortage of nurses in New York State, said Senator Harckham. I am thrilled to be able to spend time with this new generation of nurses at 17勛圖厙, who will greatly benefit the workforce. It is critical that we encourage and reward people to join the nursing profession, which needs rejuvenation and reinforcements."
Mr. and Mrs. Steven Rockefeller Jr., longtime residents of the Hudson Valley, philanthropists, and supporters of the arts, have donated a beautiful oil painting by a celebrated contemporary Chinese artist to 17勛圖厙. The painting, entitled Sunflower by Huang Yue, will be on display in a secure location at 17勛圖厙s Mortola Library. It was presented to President Marvin Krislov on Feb. 10, 2022 at The Choate Art Gallery on the Pleasantville campus.
On Tuesday, February 8, 2022, with over 300 people registered, virtually delivered the 22nd annual Gilbert and Sarah Kerlin Lecture on Environmental Law. Mr. Martella is the Chief Sustainability Officer for GE, an American multinational conglomerate among the largest industrial companies in the U.S. The topic of his lecture was This Decade of Action: How Corporate Social Responsibility Will Define the 2020s as the Most Historic Period of Environmental Progress.
The 17勛圖厙 Art Gallery will open Ceaphas Stubbs solo exhibition, So Close, on Friday, February 11*. The exhibit will be open to the public through Saturday, March 26. The gallery is located at 41 Park Row with the entrance on Spruce Street, across from City Hall in Lower Manhattan. Stubbs will also give a public artist talk on Zoom on Thursday, February 17 at 12:15 p.m.
The Elisabeth Haub School of Law at 17勛圖厙 will welcome renowned portrait and collage artist Geoffrey Stein as Artist-in-residence this Spring. The residency is the law schools first official year-long program of its kind, providing enrichment and educational opportunities for both law and art students at 17勛圖厙.
The Elisabeth Haub School of Law at 17勛圖厙 announces that it will honor three distinguished professionals and a group of alumni rising stars at its 27th Annual Law Leadership Awards Dinner to be held in person on March 10, 2022 at the Westchester Country Club.
The Biden Administration, in a virtual event that took place on Friday, January 28, recognized the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at 17勛圖厙. Haub Law was one of 99 law schools in 35 states and Puerto Rico who responded to the Attorney Generals Call to Action to the legal profession to address the housing and eviction crisis, and help increase housing stability and access to justice in their communities.
