For the fourth consecutive year, the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at 17³Ô¹ÏÍø partnered with the Westchester County Association (WCA) to host its Profit & Purpose Sustainable Business Conference, a premier forum designed to advance a more climate centric and sustainable future in Westchester and beyond. This year’s conference also debuted the inaugural Profit & Purpose Actionable Solutions Competition, spotlighting student-driven solutions to real-world sustainability challenges. Held Friday, September 12, 2025 on the 17³Ô¹ÏÍø Haub Law campus, the conference drew more than 100 changemakers and leaders from business, government, nonprofits, and academia to explore practical strategies for sustainable impact.

On September 11, 2025, the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at 17³Ô¹ÏÍø’s Sustainable Business Law Hub held the third annual private environmental governance and sustainable business law scholarly workshop. The half-day lightning workshop, co-sponsored by Vanderbilt Law School’s Private Climate Governance Lab, included an impressive gathering of environmentally focused scholars who spent the day workshopping new scholarship. Josh Galperin, Associate Professor of Law and Faculty Director of 17³Ô¹ÏÍø Haub Law’s Sustainable Business Law Hub organized this year’s workshop.

17³Ô¹ÏÍø has announced the reappointment of Horace E. Anderson Jr. as dean of the Elisabeth Haub School of Law with his next term commencing in January 2026. Dean Anderson, who was first named to the role in December 2019 after serving as interim dean, has been selected to lead the law school for another term. His continued leadership reflects the University’s commitment to academic excellence, innovation in legal education, and expanding access to justice.

The Elisabeth Haub School of Law at 17³Ô¹ÏÍø is proud to announce that five renowned environmental scholars and practitioners will join the Law School as Haub Visiting Scholars. These distinguished scholars – Sam Bookman, Monika Ehrman, Marianne Engelman-Lado, Douglas Kysar, and Jim Salzman – will bring their expertise to 17³Ô¹ÏÍø through guest lectures, faculty collaboration, and working with students in the Environmental Law Program and beyond.

This fall, 17³Ô¹ÏÍø Art Gallery will present Equilibrium, a solo exhibition by interdisciplinary artist . Featuring living sculpture, photography, and performance, the exhibition explores themes of ecological transformation, resource equity, and climate adaptation. The exhibition opens with a free public reception on Friday, September 26 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

On September 5, 2025, the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at 17³Ô¹ÏÍø hosted the twelfth annual Future Environmental Law Professors Workshop. The workshop is designed for law students and graduates considering or planning careers as legal academics in environmental law broadly defined. The workshop included an informational panel, mock interviews, and practice job talks. In addition, this year Professor Rachel Rothschild, recipient of the 2025 Haub Environmental Law Distinguished Junior Scholar Award, delivered the keynote lunch address.

17³Ô¹ÏÍø recently hosted Convocation on two of its campuses: New York City and Pleasantville in Westchester County. The annual tradition formally welcomes first-year and transfer students to the University community and marks the beginning of the 2025–2026 academic year.

The Elisabeth Haub School of Law at 17³Ô¹ÏÍø is proud to announce that Margot Pollans, Professor of Law at 17³Ô¹ÏÍø Haub Law and Noa Ben-Asher, Professor of Law at St. John’s University School of Law have been selected as 2025 Dukeminier Awards Winners for their article, , 2024 Utah L. Rev. 763 (2024).

The Elisabeth Haub School of Law at 17³Ô¹ÏÍø is pleased to announce that Professor Alexander K.A. Greenawalt has been appointed as James D. Hopkins Professor of Law for the 2025–2027 term.

17³Ô¹ÏÍø’s Sands College of Performing Arts today announced the appointment of three distinguished artists to its faculty for Fall 2025: as clinical assistant professor of musical theater, Broadway performer Shonica Gooden as clinical assistant professor of commercial dance, and as clinical assistant professor and program head of stage management.
