17³Ô¹ÏÍø Student Peer Advisors: Academic Year 2026–2027

Our office is also staffed by 17³Ô¹ÏÍø students who we call "17³Ô¹ÏÍø Abroad Leaders" (PALs). PALs help to answer general questions about 17³Ô¹ÏÍø study abroad programs. All PALs are returned study abroad students who are eager to share their experiences with you! They also participate in presentations to various students at 17³Ô¹ÏÍø, sharing the student perspective about study abroad.

Max Oglesby
Max is a Sophomore at 17³Ô¹ÏÍø, majoring in Digital Marketing, with minors in Graphic Design and Photography. His first experience with study abroad was taking a travel course to Greece his freshman year. He loved the experience and it showed him how meaningful studying in different cultures was. The most fulfilling part of studying abroad was the friends that Max made. He is now bonded with them and will share those experiences forever. He hopes to be a helpful guide and place of encouragement if you are ever thinking about studying abroad.

Andrea Machovec

Andrea is a Senior at 17³Ô¹ÏÍø, majoring in Business Analytics with a minor in Marketing. She had the opportunity to study abroad in London, England her Fall 2025 semester studying at Richmond American University London. She was also awarded the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship, which supported her academic journey across the Atlantic. Coming from Staten Island as a commuter student, the transition to living independently in the heart of London was a transformative experience for Andrea. She spent her semester embracing the local culture that differs from New York City's, from hunting down the best traditional pubs to discovering hidden spots for live music across the city. Whether she was traveling with long-time friends or making new ones abroad, she filled her weekends with unforgettable moments, like rolling down the hills of the Seven Sisters cliffs, swimming at the beaches in Italy, or sitting and eating sushi right under the Eiffel Tower. Andrea hopes that she can be a source of encouragement for anyone who is considering their own study abroad journey.
